  • Essential Marketing Advice for Senior Business Owners

If you’re an adult over the age of 50, you’ve likely felt the itch to challenge yourself and conquer new horizons.

For many, entrepreneurship is the perfect way to do this – and seniors certainly have the time and resources to devote to this strenuous undertaking.

However, to make it to the top, you’ll need more than just a big idea and a passionate heart.

Yep, we’re talking about online marketing, which is a fast-growing field. And with complicated terms, constantly changing guidelines, and over-saturated audiences, it can feel daunting to take on the world of marketing.

In this article, I share essential advice every senior needs, to skyrocket their marketing efforts and see a difference in their bottom line. Let’s get into it.

    Start Simple

You don’t need a pricey marketing agency to help you achieve your entrepreneurial goals! All you need to do is start simple and take it step by step.

Before you begin the real work, you’ll need to do lots of market research to determine your future strategies. Some questions to ask yourself may include the following:

    ● What does your demographic look like?

    ● What products or services would they be interested in?

    ● Is there a gap in the specific industry that your product or service would fill?

    ● What price point would appeal to your audience?

From here, you’ll be able to identify a target market and what particulars would make your business stand out in their eyes.

Other elements of your marketing plan will include fundraising, social media, and traditional advertising like print media and flyer marketing.

    Get Organised

Next, it’s time to get your affairs in order. You need a long-term goals to work towards and concrete strategies to help you work towards achieving them.

The best way to figure out your goals is to sit down for a brainstorming session! Consider what you wish to prioritize – growth, ROI, profits, or brand awareness. And then work backward with smaller marketing strategies to help you achieve your dreams.

    Set Up a Website

In today’s tech fuelled world, the first thing a potential customer will do is check out your business website.

Thus, your website must look great with eye-catching graphics and consistent visual identity across your marketing efforts and social channels.

This is the best way to earn digital legitimacy! Another tip is to ensure your site is mobile-friendly and search engine optimized.

All your business information should be up on the site, including an ‘about us’ section, a shop page, and a blog, in addition to information about brick and mortar stores.

    Leverage Social Media

Do you know what goes hand in hand with an appealing website? The power of social media! Many seniors tend to dismiss social media as a secondary marketing strategy.

We would argue that social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok are essential and primary. For example, your services could go viral, generating a ton of traffic.

At the very least, your social presence will generate steady organic traffic and help you stay current with things.

Let’s take the example of Instagram. So many brands, set up shop on this platform due to its business-friendly UI and promotion opportunities built into the app.

Having a business on Instagram will also showcase your company values while building a solid and loyal community.

To stay on top of the game, ensure that your Instagram posts are share-worthy and eye-catching.

The easiest way to do this is by using an Instagram post generator like Adobe Spark Post that does the work for you.

All you need to do is choose a template and customize elements like font, color, text, and add in your graphics and photos.

    Offer Freebies

So convinced about your product that you know people would love it if they could just try it? Well, it’s time to put that theory to the test! Identify members of your audience or influencers to send free products to.

This is an effective marketing strategy because if people love something, they’re willing to go out of their way to share it! And don’t underestimate the power of word-of-mouth, which can propel your business to new heights.

Coupons like buying one get one for free or a certain percentage off the next purchase are also highly effective ways to get loyal customers coming back for more.

Basically what you want is customers that are loyal and return to purchase from your business.

    Cross-Collaboration

Hitch your wagon to a star, and watch the magic unfold. Cross-promotion and collaboration with other businesses in your industry is a surefire way to get new customers while building healthy business relationships.

Your business will benefit from exposure to an already converted and loyal customer base, while your partner’s business will benefit from exposure to your clientele!

It’s a win-win situation and works wonders for getting that bottom line up.

Luckily, seniors have a whole host of business contacts built up from years of experience. Be sure to leverage your network, and you’ll be golden!

Marketing is essential for every business owner, but it can be a survival strategy for a new entrepreneur.

Getting the word out about your new venture can be challenging – it is likely your audience won’t pick up on the merits of your idea as quickly as you’d hoped.

To add to that, marketing is constantly changing. Guerrilla marketing was once at its peak, and today, we’re all about digital marketing.

To retain your competitive edge, you will need to evolve with the market. So take it slow, keep it current, and work your way to the top of the (marketing) ladder.

    Conclusion

Marketing if well executed could bring more benefits to your business than you ever imagined. A well-marketed business will continuously make you lots of income for years to come.

  • A Share of the Billions of Dollars on the Internet

The internet is a hive of activities. You probably have heard how people have made and are still making lots of money using the internet.

Even though the internet is one of the best mediums to earn a remarkable amount of income, it still remains underutilised by many of its users.

The most common use of the internet is communication, news reading, and socializing.

There are a handful of users who have really appreciated and harnessed the power and potential of the internet to generate massive and multiple streams of income.

There are a number of reasons that have led to the underutilisation of the internet as an income-generating medium.

Some of the reasons being; ignorance, presence of counterfeit programs, lack of patience, wanting to get rich quick, fear of the unknown, and the list goes on and on.

Whatever, your reasons are, believe me, the internet can be a source of decent income.

In this article, I outline four sources of income am currently benefiting from.

The amounts am earning are currently not as much but I can already see that with time, patience, and hard work they will greatly increase.

There are many good programs available online that can be utilized to earn lots of money.

But to every good program, there are many counterfeits and scams. Find here below my recommended online products.

    Google Adsense

Google Adsense is very different from traditional advertising, such as with banner ads or block placements.

This is because of the dynamic nature of how the ads are published. It allows you to set up automatic rotating ad blocks that allow you to create channels for specific niche markets.

With Google Adsense, you are paid every time someone clicks on your website advertisement.

You are simply paid a percentage of the sponsor’s cost for advertising through the Google network.

In order to maximize your earnings with Google Adsense, you need to focus on optimizing your click-through rates. Your website visitors should be motivated to click on your ads.

You will need to have a website, in order to get started making money with Google Adsense. This can come in any format including article sites, directories, forums or even blogs.

With Google Adsense, you do not need to build any downline and it is free to join.

    Net Penny Stocks

I would be lying to say that I fully understand how this program works but it pays. So far it has the largest contribution to all my online income streams.

From my own understanding, it is some sort of virtual shares program that pays you on a weekly basis.

You get the maximum benefit by reinvesting your weekly payments and earn extra bonuses by building an active downline.

Investing in this program is as low as US$1.95 only but the recommended minimum is US$5.85.

The program is free to join and you can start earning once you have bought “shares” it uses a 3X12 matrix once you lock in your position to earn residual income.

The beauty of it though is that there are no products to sell or market. All you have to do is promote your link and create an active downline whilst reinvesting your weekly payments. In this way, you maximize your weekly profits.

    SFI Marketing

SFI Marketing is perhaps one of the fastest-growing companies with over 8000 new affiliates joining weekly.

The company has been in existence for over 25 years. Affiliates are provided with all necessary support for marketing SFI products on the internet.

It also provides sales support such as customer support, payment processing, and product shipping at no cost to the affiliate.

In addition, all sales generated by the affiliate are tracked to the referring affiliate and commission credited to the account of the affiliate.

SFI has been steadily expanding and in January 2009 they launched Tripleclicks.

Tripleclicks features thousands of products including collectibles and new products are added every day.

Tripleclicks is a mega store it is also a portal to more than 170 major brand names of online stores including iTunes, PetSmart, Autos.com, BabyUniverse, ESPN, Expedia, Hotwire.com, Match.com, NetFlix, NutriSystem, Priceline.com, Skype, and TicketMaster.

You can find collectibles and many other items found nowhere else on the internet.

TripleClicks also allows its members to simply and easily sell their own unwanted items for cash or trade. SFI affiliates can earn handsome commissions promoting the products and services available at TripleClicks.

Here are three reasons why triple clicks is the most loved megastore:-

    Conclusion

There are many sources of income on the internet one has to be careful with what they choose because there are also many scams out there.

Making money online should be taken as any other business and patience, caution and persistence should be exercised. I have just mentioned those programs that I take part in and have so far proven to be beneficial.

  • Features of a Good Affiliate Marketing Program

There are so many affiliate marketing programs being published and advertised on the internet today.

Although this is a good sign that more and more people are beginning to use and appreciate the abundance of wealth and opportunities available on the web, care should be taken.

There are also more internet scams on the internet today than ever before. Most of these programs will claim to give you success within a very short period of time.

They will claim to have the latest “hot” products that have been recently launched and will ask you to lock in before it’s too late.

I am a very slow person to spend money on new affiliate programs especially the ones that claim to give you huge profits for very little investment.

My approach to them is to get word from persons I know are benefiting from them.

These are people I trust and some of them are my upline in the current affiliate marketing programs I benefit from. It is quite difficult though to find such people.

But, since I know that they too are prone to making mistakes I have devised a way to help me make sound decisions before I participate in any affiliate marketing program be it new or old.

    • The credibility of the company – How credible is the company behind the affiliate marketing program? Who is behind this same company? What are they involved in? Remember you do not want to be part of a program that is sponsoring illegitimate activities. This I feel is very important.
    • How long has the company been in existence? – I guess the longer a company has been in existence the more goodwill and reputable its products are. A company that has been in business for more than 5 years has certainly built a good base of goodwill than one that has been for less. I say this with an exception.
    • Does the program offer free training materials? – It is absolutely ridiculous for me to buy training materials on how to market a product for an affiliate program. A good affiliate marketing program will provide free materials for its affiliates. The content of the material will outline the basic requirements to market the products/services and methods of being paid. It should also outline the ordering and delivery system to the customer.
    • The ordering system and customer services – should be very clear. The manual should also outline your rewards or benefits for marketing their products/services. How you will access your commission and so forth and so on.
    • Does the program offer to market multiple products/services? – A good affiliate marketing program will not only sell one product/service unless that product/service is extremely popular and important. It will have different quality products or services for different niches. This is important as it will give affiliates different sources of income.

    Conclusion

The above-listed points are some of the major important features I consider before joining or signing up for an affiliate marketing program.

If the above are satisfactory I make a decision. One such program that has satisfied me is SFI Marketing Program.

  • Blogs, What are They?

The internet was originally used by the military and research scientists.

They used it to exchange highly technical information. Because of the highly technical nature of the internet and information that was being exchanged, a tradition of informality and personal expression developed to ease the cold technicality.

Blogs while appearing to be the latest fad, really resurrect in the modern form an order, more traditional way of using the internet to exchange information with a personal touch.

They are replacing static websites rapidly. Blogs, provide current information from a particular perspective.

They do that in a format that easily integrates with other information from other perspectives.

    What Are Blogs?

Blog” is short for “Weblog.” A “Weblog” is a log that is kept and shared on the internet. A “log” is a record of chronological events e.g. a Captain’s log.

It records events and points to the sources of information about those events. It is chronological, usually with the latest entries on top prior to entries below.

Blogs can be used and have been used for many other subjects the major ones being political and for personal communication.

Regardless of the subject, the entries should be chronological and event-oriented. They should contain links to each original source of information that is being summarized.

However, Blogs can deal with any type of subject and express any perspective.

    Blogs and E-commerce

An important characteristic of a blog in this context is that Blogs, like discussion boards and chat rooms, bring visitors back to your site over and over again.

They help to create a relationship between you and the visitors to your website depending on the quality of the content you are providing.

Repeat visitors who develop a relationship with you through your website are exactly what you want in order to succeed in e-commerce.

Blogs also tend to do well in search engine rankings because they are information-driven. They are a way to provide unique and useful information.

By leading with this information, you can then offer your visitors opportunities, products and services. However, as mentioned above the key to attracting repeat visitors is the quality of the information provided.

    Publishing Blogs

Blogs are quite simple to publish and can be done by yourself. You can just add a page to your existing Website and use this page for your blog.

Simply format this page into a table or paragraphs with a date and caption line above each entry. Add new entries at the top of the page. Blogs are more a matter of information than they are of design and formatting.

Publishing a Blog, however, will take an investment of time. What makes the Blog useful is that you are doing the research, finding the sources of information on your subject and summarizing them, so that your viewers can save on time.

You are also adding your unique perspective to the information. To keep visitors coming to your Blog, you will have to add entries often.

Visitors who share your perspective will be attracted to your Blog. The time you put in finding and summarizing the information will save your visitors time. You are providing them with a service that saves them time and effort.

    Selling Using Blogs

Because you are providing a useful service to your visitors, they will develop trust in you.

If you prove worthy of that trust, this relationship will build. A relationship of trust is the most important element in internet marketing.

If your visitors trust the research and summaries in your Blog, they will also trust your recommendations for opportunities, products and services.

Try to incorporate your affiliate links into the text of your Blog entries. The textual links in the text of the entries, in context with the other information, are the ones that will really produce results.

If your visitors are interested in the text of your Blog entries, that interest will flow over to your affiliate links. Do not force the affiliate links into your context.

It should be noted that the internet purists do not believe that Blogs should contain any commercial content or links. I do not agree with this belief; remember time is spent on getting this information and summarizing it.

It is important that the information remains objective and not just commercially biased in order for the Blog to be trustworthy.

If a Blog proves to be generally trustworthy you will certainly reap the rewards of your hard work as most internet users will not object to appropriately placed affiliate links that naturally flow with the content.

    Finally

Blogs, when used properly, can be an effective e-commerce tool. Appropriately placed affiliate links, flowing with the context of the Blog entries, can be a powerful marketing tool.

  • Strategies for Successful Affiliates

“To be successful and happy, you must discipline yourself to work all the time you work” – Brian Tracy.

Affiliate marketing is a low-cost way for merchants to build awareness of their products and in turn drive high volumes of traffic to their websites.

Remember high traffic increases the chance of making high sales. High sales mean high profits for the merchants.

Affiliate marketing works as a commission-based referral system. Affiliates refer prospective customers to merchant’s websites and are paid for either an interaction or when a sale is made.

Statistics show that affiliate marketing experts make five figure incomes per month. This is no easy task but can be done and it is being done.

The so called supper affiliates have something in common. The typical ones possess the following traits.

Persistence – never give up without a fight
Patience – is a virtue you will need it
Knowledge and skill – is power, strive to acquire it

These traits combined with the following strategies will help to build you into a successful affiliate marketer.

    • Select your Niche carefully – The most common number one mistake committed by upcoming affiliate marketers is to try and sell everything. You must find a unique niche to market. Remember we all have something within us that the world needs and does not have.
    • Marketing – Once you have built your niche. You will need to promote it. One of the best ways to promote it is to use search engines. However, use any available and effective medium.
    • Know Your Audience – Create a resource. Collect as much information as you can on the products/services that you are marketing. This will help you to build credibility and will lead to being trustworthy.
    • Diversify – do not put all your eggs in one basket. Promote products from different merchants. I would like to be cautious though on this one. There is absolutely nothing wrong with promoting a different kind of merchants.
    • Persistence – Do not give up, results take time to start showing. But when they do and believe me they will. You will reap the rewards. That is why it is important to write about, what flows naturally from you. Affiliate marketing should be a long-term business and not a get-rich-quick business.
    • Stay Relevant – Ensure that you market products that are relevant to your niche. If you have to market using your own web site ensure that you write articles that have no time limit. In other words write content that is timeless.
    • Patience – As I said before affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick business. You will need to be patient. As an old saying goes that patience is a virtue please develop it. I would liken affiliate marketing to women.
    • Knowledge is Vital – There is no way you will succeed in anything without knowledge. The key to acquiring knowledge is to read, read, read, and read. Take notes and review them every once in a while. I would like to encourage you to start reading especially topics that relate to your niche. This is the only way you will get to know your niche even better and improve your marketing skills.

  • 3 Internet Business Tips That Can Guarantee Success

There will always be a new program starting up online. You will not miss out on making millions of dollars.

What you need to do, is learn online marketing and do it one business at a time.

Many times we make mistakes by marketing many programs at once even before we start making any money from one. The end result is frustration and we abandon all other good programs.

Identifying a Business or Program to Market

There are many products/businesses/programs to market online. You need to stop spending randomly and get a grip on learning your online marketing.

Knowledge is power only after you understand what you got and put it into action. Find one product, service, or program you want to build and follow a few basic rules to keep you on the good side of the law.

A business is legal only if a product or service is being offered or sold. The legality extends to many other areas. We will not discuss them but will assume the you have complied with the law.

If the webpage looks hyped up or is being marketed as the hot new thing then it may burn out really fast.

Find a business that has a big name attached to it and has been around for a long time.

Good affiliate programs allow you to join them for free and don’t ever require that you buy anything yourself to make money.

If you can find a company that combines both MLM and Affiliate Marketing then you have found a good one.

If you can find a program that has been around for a few years that is a good sign. It means that people are buying their product/service and the market is already there.

After you are done with your due diligence and researched a few programs pick the best based on the following:-

    • Variety of products/services being offered. More products/services mean more opportunities to market.
    • Year in business. (5 years is good enough but 10 or more is better)
    • Growth of company e.g how many people signup each day, week, month etc
    • How do you make money? (MLM + Affiliate = Good)
    • What kind of support do they give?
    • How do you feel about it? Choose the best one to build and more importantly one you can learn from. Keep your number 2 and 3 picks for future marketing.

Don’t start marketing other programs until you get to grips with your first one.  Whatever product, service, or program you choose will dictate what niche market you will be working in.

You should do some research on the niche before you choose one. Google the keywords and if there are a lot of sites in the search list then you are doing well.

Your training is over when you make more money from your online business in one month than what you spend on it to market the program.

    Start Marketing

First, you need to tell your friends about your new business! This is the hard part. Phone them email them, well send them a real letter in the mail people love to get letters in the mail. Warm marketing like this is important because if you do begin to make money or a lot of money down the road your friends and family will see what they missed out on.

Mistakes to Avoid in Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing offers more opportunities to earn lots of real money on the internet than many other businesses or programs on the web. You probably have heard or read about people succeeding on the internet using affiliate marketing.

However, success does not come easy and most of the failure stories you have heard are due to some elementary mistakes that should be avoided.

Believing you can earn money without doing anything – In any business you can earn money with hard work. There is a lot of work to be put in before the money starts trickling in. You will need to follow the dos and don’ts of affiliate marketing before you can actually start relaxing and seeing your business grow.

Failure to market the business correctly – Marketing is an integral part of any business and in this case affiliate marketing. You need to find the correct medium to use and the precise forum. Many a times adverts are miss placed and end up being viewed by the wrong audience. Mediums like social media can be of great help if used correctly.

Failing to make adjustments – From time to time you need to make the right adjustments in order that you keep up with new trends in consumer behavior and affiliate marketing trends. The adjustments should be timely and necessary.

Failure to protect your links – Affiliate links should be protected from unscrupulous people. Link theft has become very prevalent these days.

Promoting a wrong affiliate program – The choice of a program to promote is very critical. You need a program that has stood the taste of time and has many different products to market. This will give you a greater opportunity to sell more and hence more commission coming your way.

    Conclusion

The internet can be a source of genuine of wealth creation. It can also be a serious source of fake and dubious businesses. Be very careful as you venture online.
