4 Tips to Help Stay Positive

Having a positive mindset is not only an asset to any endeavor but also to the individual as we generally like being around positive people.

One of the keys to being able to maintain the motivation levels for any project is found in the ability to stay positive no matter what the circumstances are.

Having a definite mindset is not only an asset to any endeavor but also to the individual as people generally like being around positive-minded persons.

There are several ways to learn how to always stay within a positive mindset. Below are just some simple recommendations anyone can follow to have affirmative thoughts:

• The first recommendation would be to start with the focus of the mind at any given time. You are what you think. Your thoughts will normally determine and dictate your mood.

Training your mind to only recognize the positive elements in any situation or circumstance is one good habit to follow.

This is because the perception formed in the mind generally dictates the rest of the individual’s response. Therefore, if the mind is able to process information in a positive manner then there is a better chance of facing any potential problems successfully.

• Being in the company of other positive-minded people also helps to ensure the cultivation of the individual’s own positive mindset. Keeping negative people from being a permanent fixture within one’s everyday activities would be a step in the right direction.

Be mindful of the company that you keep. They say birds of the same feather flock together.

If you spend most of your time in the company of positive-minded people you are more likely to be positive-minded as well. This I have noticed with my friends.

Some of them are very negative that when I spend just one hour with them my mood changes and that disturbs my positive thought pattern.

• Another interesting way of staying optimistic is to surround yourself with positive posters, quotes, audios, and visual media exposure and maybe even trying to commit to memory some helpful and positive abstracts or statements.

I have a few books on inspirational quotes that I read on a regular basis. I also read the book of psalms in the bible.

Listening to motivational speakers is another way to staying and maintaining a good clear mind. “When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge.” ~ Albert Einstein

• Proven scientific research has shown that regular exercise can also help regulate the chemical balance in the human body and thus create the confidence energy that is needed to keep a positive mindset.

Exercising cannot be over-emphasised. Not only does it help us in keeping our minds in a favourable state, but it also helps to keep our bodies physically healthy.

Thus following a regular physical exercising routine would be a definite advantage. Meditating and yoga may also help to achieve the same positive mindset as it is predominantly geared towards this end.


Ultimately, a convinced mind is a recipe for success. Keeping confident thoughts yields positive results.

There are many other ways to help keep your mind optimistic and staying motivated but I feel the ones outlined above have really helped and think they would be of use to you. Remember to always “standout tall and be counted.”
