Life offers us many things that we take for granted. From childhood to adulthood we are privileged to enjoy so many good things.
Yes, sometimes it is tough to realise that we are blessed until we lose the blessing. When we are blessed with something we become blind and complacent. Over time we tend to forget to take good care of the blessing.
In my life, I have learned to appreciate the little things that seem not to matter to many people. It is the small things that make up the big things.
If you ignore the small little things, your life will be a mess. It may seem as if there is nothing to live for and yet we all have so much to give and so much to live for.
Do not be discouraged if you are in a moment where you feel isolated or abandoned. Believe me, there are more people in a much worse situation than what you are experiencing.
It is just a matter of time before you turn the corner and things start moving in the direction you want them to.
But life as it is, should not be left on autopilot. It takes effort and determination to make the changes that will help enhance your life.
As you make the change and start to pursue your dreams learn to never take the following 3 things for granted.
The Gift of Life
If you are breathing you must thank God that you still have the gift of life. You have every reason be to grateful because you still have a chance to give it a go.
Sometimes we take life for granted. Just because you woke up this morning does not necessarily mean you will see the end of the day. This life you are enjoying can easily be taken away within a matter of minutes.
Every day that you are alive is a miracle and this is more reason why you should always be grateful for the gift of life.
You may not be in a good position as you would want to be, but the fact that you are still alive gives you an equal chance at having another go at doing the right things.
If you give up now you may never know what you will have achieved had you tried much harder and worked your course.
You see God is very fair, he has given us all the gift of life and we all have access to the same resources. Our localities may be different but we all have access to the same resources.
We may experience different challenges but the resources remain accessible to all who are willing to go the extra mile.
As long as you are still breathing, your job is to ensure that you make good use of your life. Because at some stage you will have to account for what you did with it.
If there is any gift that needs to be cherished above all, it is the fact that you have a life. Last time I check all human beings are only credited with one life on this earth.
Therefore, be more grateful for it, because how you look after your life today will largely determine how well your future will be.
People who are grateful do not misuse their lives. They always try as much as they can to look after themselves well if not better their lives.
The Gift of Good Health
You have heard it said that your health is your wealth. Just like any other asset your health is an asset. Perhaps your greatest asset. Good health is to be cherished and utilised properly.
Do not take your health for granted. It is what will make or break you. You are most productive when you are in good health.
If you are of a sound mind and good physical well being thank God for it. Believe me, it is not easy to do things when your body is not in good health.
Life is much easier to live when you are in good health both physically and mentally. Make sure you do your very best to prolong the enjoyment of good health.
If you are experiencing bad health do everything humanly possible to help restore your health. Human beings were meant to enjoy good health.
Remember the key is that you still have the breath of life. Not until God says so you still have a chance to pursue your dreams. It may seem impossible in your eyes, but nothing is impossible with God by your side.
Those of us enjoying good health must not despise or indeed celebrate that our friends are not enjoying good health. Instead, we must lend a helping hand to them.
You never know what the future holds. However, when you offer help, do not expect anything in return, just do it out of goodwill. Do it out of love for other human beings.
The Gift of Family/Relationships
Family or should I say relationships are an essential aspect of life. From the time we are born to the time we die, we need people around us. I believe that every one of us has some kind of relationship be it family or friends.
We all have those people we refer to as family even if they are not our biological or blood relations. That is what humanity is all about. We are a social species.
We thrive when we are connected to strong relationship bonds; When we have a strong support system. A support system that looks after our best interest at heart.
But many of us take these relationships for granted. We do not appreciate them whilst they last. We only realise how important they are when they are no more.
Just because you are the one in the front of success does not mean you made it alone. There are a whole lot of people behind you that are ensuring that you succeed; that are looking after your back.
You may not be conscious of them but they are there playing a silent part. Some may not even be playing a seemingly significant part but they contribute to your overall success story.
That is why in this life you must never look down upon anyone but appreciate what they do for you, it may seem small but it adds up to something.
Likewise, you are also playing a part in someone’s life. You may not know it but there is someone out there who looks up to you. That is why it is always important to do the right thing all the time.
These relationships that we have must never be taken for granted. We must try by all means to show gratitude whenever possible. Because once they are gone they can never be replaced.
Conclusion
There are many things to be grateful for in this life. If you think you have nothing to be grateful for try listing them down. You will be amazed at how long the list will be.
I just picked 3 that I thought we normally take for granted. You can add to the list and be thankful even for the little things that you experience and always show some love to someone.
